The ISI Committee on Women in Statistics (CW-ISI) invites you to a virtual Networking Event for an opportunity to meet as a group and interact with other female statisticians. There will be a short 15-minute presentation on the aims and work of CW-ISI, followed by an informal set of discussions on topics that have special relevance for us as women. We will be breaking into small groups to talk among ourselves on how we can further the aims of CW-ISI and how we can individually contribute to making this special interest group stronger. Most of all, this is a networking event, where we encourage women to make new connections and to renew existing relationships - among our professional colleagues and friends.
It is bound to be a wonderful opportunity to meet other inspiring women in the field of Statistics, and to learn from and support each other. Join this celebration of all the powerful women in our discipline (that includes you!). This event is made possible through the generous sponsorship of L’Oréal, to whom we are deeply grateful.
Want to join this event? All WSC 2021 delegates are welcome to join via the platform, though we only have maximum 100 places in order to have productive breakout discussions. Please note that this event will be recorded.
Topics to be Discussed in Breakout Rooms:
1) Please share with us your name, country, organization and area of expertise.
2) What drew you to participate in the CW-ISI Networking Event?
3) What can we do together as a group to further the aims of CW-ISI as elaborated during the presentation?
4) What can you contribute individually to other members of CW-ISI? For instance, do you have a special skill or area of expertise (e.g., publishing a book or peer-reviewed journal) that could be shared with or could help others?
